Biography:
Businessman, Entrepreneur, Martial Artist, Toastmaster, and Game Changer are just a few of the titles held by Mr. Azan. Jeffrey possesses over 18 years of experience in the retail industry having been raised in his family’s business, Azan’s. Upon completion of his Bachelors in Business Management at Boston University, he stepped into a top tier management role as a Director for Azan’s and served in that position for 6 years. In his own right he has also been a franchise owner in Organo Gold, and Amway, A café owner under the brand Café Moments, a consultant on the Brand Profit team, General Manager of the brand solution company, It’s Pixel Perfect, and the organizer of the live music show, A Moment of Jazz.
He has been a leader and motivator since his younger years, serving as Head Boy and House Captain back in his youth at Wolmer’s Preparatory School, not to mention a Government Scholar to Campion College. In his teenage years he was an attendee of the Global Young Leaders Conference and the Global Young Leaders Summit, which afforded him the opportunity to travel to Australia. In his travels he has been exposed to numerous cultures all across the globe including, many parts of the United States, Canada, China, other Caribbean islands, as well as parts of Western Europe. In his adult life, aside from his professional background, Jeffrey possesses a martial arts history with over 10 years of study in Karate, serving as a student, a competitor, and a teacher. Most recently he was the Jamaican representative at the Olympic qualifier tournament, XXXI Pan American Karate Championship 2017 in Curacao, where he was not only the sole competitor from Jamaica but also the sole delegate. He also is a full time and active member of Toastmasters International; having served in several executive roles. Most notably in 2016 he served as the Assistant Division Director of Club Growth to the territories of Jamaica, Cayman Islands, and Turks and Caicos. Mr. Azan also won the 2017 Caribbean Championship of Public Speaking held in Barbados, in the category of Impromptu Speaking.
Jeffrey currently spends the majority of his time working through his passion for the development of others in an effort to see a better Jamaica and a better world. He does this by providing motivational keynote speeches, group skill training, and one-on-one coaching. He founded the self-development brand, Select ‘n’ Start back in 2013, with a vision of it becoming the number one personal development brand to be birthed out of the Caribbean. The brand has taken to titling its coaches and speakers as “Game Changers” which is a title Jeffrey holds very proudly. His motto is a simple one, “Change your game, Change your life.”
Since embarking on his journey as a speaker he has had the privilege of presenting for a number of groups and companies namely: various associations at the University of Technology, the Kingston YMCA, Family Church on the Rock Montego Bay, The Jamaican chapter of the Project Management Institute, Grace Canning, G2K, Scotiabank Collections Department, The Jamaica Post and several others. As a result of his consistent service Mr. Azan has recently been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Kingston YMCA, run by the General Secretary Mrs. Sarah Newland-Martin. Not to mention that through his consistent effort to develop himself he has achieved several designations through Toastmasters International, most recent of which are, Advance Communicator Gold and Advance Leader Bronze. He has also been awarded the Toastmasters International Triple Crown for achieving three or more designations within a single year, which would require over 40 speeches in Toastmasters settings; and has been awarded Toastmaster of the year in 2014 for his outstanding service and accomplishments.
