Biography:

Granville Newell is first and foremost a journalist who has evolved into a communication specialist, marketing manager, trainer and coach and master of ceremonies/moderator of note.

He has worked in several private and public sector companies, including one in the Eastern Caribbean.

He received his university education at the Caribbean Institute of Media and Communication, from which he obtained a BA (Honours) in Mass Communication and Social Sciences as well as a Master’s degree in Communication Studies. From the Mona School of Business he received a post-graduate certificate in Marketing. He also obtained a senior management certificate from the Jamaican Institute of Management and a train the trainer’s certificate from HEART/Trust NTA.

Moderator

Over time, he has been in demand for emceeing, moderating or chairing numerous local and regional functions such as business sessions, contests, concerts and even weddings. He has also acted as rapporteur for company retreats.

Public Speaking Coaching

Conducted public speaking coaching for the following groups:

Six sets of clerks and supervisors at the University of the West Indies Hospital over the past two years
More than 200 participants at four (4) District Conferences of the Optimist International Caribbean District
More 50 workers of the Ministry of Entertainment, Sports, Culture and Gender Affairs

Social Etiquette and Protocol Training

Conducted Social Etiquette and Protocol training for groups of 25 students from 10 high schools across Jamaica under the auspices of a programme instituted by the Financial Services Commission (FIS).

Customer Service Training

Conducted Customer Service Training at the following organizations:
