A magnificent woman without limits actress, dancer, model, television personality are just a few of the titles held by this goddess of a woman, Yendi Amira Phillipps.Born in Kingston Jamaica, Yendi Phillips is a woman of many firsts.
After being crowned the winner of Miss Jamaica World in 2007, she went on to represent her country in the Miss World 2007 pageant held in Sanya, China. There, she became the first contestant in the history of the pageant to become a finalist in all fast track events of the competition, namely Miss World Beach Beauty, Miss World Sports, Miss World Talent, Miss World Top Model, and Beauty with Purpose. She placed 6th overall and was named one of the sexiest black women alive by dimewars.com.
Yendi Phillips returned to the world of beauty pageants in 2010 and was crowned Miss Jamaica Universe, and subsequently represented Jamaica in the Miss Universe Pageant 2010 held in Las Vegas, Nevada. She placed first runner up behind Miss Mexico. She scored very high points in swimsuit and evening gown rounds, and entered the second round with an overall 8.884. She also became the first woman to give Jamaica its highest standing in the Miss Universe Pageant. She is also the 3rd woman to hold both the titles of Miss Jamaica Universe and Miss World Universe.
Standing at 5ft 10inch, Yendi Phillips is the owner of perfect body measurements and needless to mention her mesmerizing brown eyes surely made her immensely popular during her beauty pageant competitions.
As her popularity grew, she received offers for modeling and commercials. She has appeared in popular ad campaigns for Toyota and Pepsi Refresh in the USA, and Sprite in India. She has also graced the covers of numerous magazines, such as Caribbean Beat, Ocean Style, Skywritings, Women & Home, Fair Lady, Buzz, College, Soul, and Basia to name a few. Besides juggling competitions and modeling, she has also hosted Jamaica’s wildly popular talent hunt show, Digicel Rising Stars. Yendi also founded the Yendi Phillipps Foundation in 2011 with one of its driving focus being public awareness in Jamaica.
